Dan is presented with one of the world's first 450mm wafers by Daisuke Oka of Nippon Mining & Metals. Intel's Mike Goldstein is also on-hand as they discuss the importance of having these wafers and what development work they will enable. Dan shows an original 1-inch wafer and ingots from Fairchild Semiconductor, as well as a current 300mm wafer, to give an idea of just how big 450mm really is . . . and it really is big.
